Company

We got tired of paying Adobe to edit our own documents.

Pdf Clarity started because one of us tried to re-order three pages of a lease and got a $19.99/month paywall instead. That felt wrong. So we built this.

PDFs were invented in 1993 by Adobe as an open format — something anyone could open, read, and share. The format is still open. The tools to work with it are mostly not. The best editor costs $239 a year. The free web tools make you sign up, watermark your file, or quietly train an AI model on whatever you upload.

We built Pdf Clarity for the ordinary moments: signing a contract before a meeting, shrinking a resume so it fits in an email, pulling one page out of a forty-page scan. Tasks that should take sixty seconds and currently take twenty minutes and a subscription.

We fund the free tier through Pro, a low-priced Pro tier for people who do this every day. We don't run ads. We don't sell data. We don't train models on your PDFs. We don't have investors breathing down our neck to monetize your email address.

How we make money, plainly:

Roughly 3% of our users pay for Pro. That's enough. If you never pay us a cent, that's fine — you're not the product, and you never will be.
