How to sign a PDF, end to end.

Four clicks from a dropzone on this page to a signed PDF in your Downloads folder. You never print. You never scan.

  1. Drop your PDF on this page.

Drag it from your desktop or click to browse. It uploads encrypted. We can't see it.
  2. Make your signature.

Draw it with your mouse or trackpad, type it and pick a handwritten font, or upload a photo of your real signature. You only do this once.
  3. Drop it on the dotted line.

Drag your signature, initials, or date to the exact spot the contract asks for. Resize it. Reposition it. Add a second one on page seven.
  4. Download. We forget.

Your signed PDF lands in Downloads. Our copy is deleted within the hour. Send it back before the other side notices you were gone.

What you can actually do on this page.

Five honest moves you can finish in the browser you're already in. No Adobe, no signup, no print-sign-scan cycle.

  • Three ways to sign.

Draw it with your mouse, type and pick a handwritten font, or upload a photo of your real signature.

  • Initials and dates too.

Most contracts want both. We give you both.

  • Drag to place.

Signature, initials, date — snap them exactly where the dotted line is.

  • Legally valid.

Electronic signatures are legally binding in the US, EU, UK, and most of the world for most documents (not wills or notarized filings — talk to a lawyer for those).

  • No print-sign-scan cycle.

Your existing workflow probably ends with "scan, pray, attach." Not here.

Add signature to PDF

Draw or type your signature once, then drop it on the exact line your contract asks for. You can resize the mark and place it anywhere on the page.

eSign PDF free

Electronic signatures let you skip the print-sign-scan cycle entirely. You sign in your browser and send the signed PDF the same way you'd send any other file.

Fill and sign PDF forms

Complete text fields, check boxes, and signature fields in one flow so the finished form is signed the moment you're done filling it. You don't need a second tool.

Sign PDFs without Adobe

Your browser is enough — you don't need Adobe or any desktop app to sign your PDF. Upload, sign, download — that's the whole flow.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to what people ask us most about editing a PDF online for free. Tap any question and the answer expands inline.

Is an electronic signature legally valid?
In the US (ESIGN Act, 2000), EU (eIDAS), UK, Canada, Australia, and most of the world: yes, for contracts, leases, invoices, NDAs, offer letters, freelance agreements. Not valid for wills, court filings, notarized documents. If you're unsure, ask a lawyer — not us.
Is it really free? What's the catch?
There isn't one. Signing, initials, dates, text — all free, for as long as you need it. No signup, no watermark, no "upgrade to unlock this page." If you want bigger file caps, the Pro tier is there; if you don't, you never see it.
Will my signed PDF have a watermark?
Never. Not on free, not on Pro, not ever.
What happens to my file after I'm done?
Deleted within one hour of upload. Encrypted in transit and at rest. Never read by a human, never shared, never used to train anything.
Can I upload a photo of my real signature?
Yes. Snap a photo of your signature on white paper, upload the JPG or PNG, and drop it on the line. We'll handle the transparency so it looks like a real signature on the PDF, not a sticker.
Can I save my signature for next time?
Yes. Your signature stays in local browser storage on this device so you can reuse it without redrawing every time. Clearing your browser data clears it too.
Can two people sign the same PDF?
You can sign yourself and forward the signed copy to the next person. For guided multi-party signing with audit trails, use a service like DocuSign — we'd rather say so than pretend.
Does it work on an iPad, Chromebook, or phone?
Yes. Any browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. A trackpad or stylus makes drawing your signature smoother, but a finger works in a pinch.
Do I need to sign up, create an account, or enter an email?
No, no, and no. The button says "Drop your PDF here" — that's the whole onboarding.
