How to fill a PDF form in 3 steps

Your PDF opens in the form-fill lane the moment you upload it. You stay in the same browser tab from upload to filled download.

  1. Upload your PDF form

Drag your PDF into the form-fill lane above, or click to browse. Your file stays in your browser until you download the filled copy.
  2. Type your answers

Jump through every detected field in page order — text, checkbox, radio, dropdown, signature. Your form progress saves as you work so you can step away and come back.
  3. Download your filled PDF

Click Download once every field looks right. Your filled PDF is ready to send, sign, or archive as a regular PDF file.

Everything you need to fill a PDF form

Your form-fill toolkit covers the moves you reach for most — typing, checking, signing — without hunting through a bigger editor. You never pay extra, and your PDF never leaves your session.

  • Field-by-field navigation

Pdf Clarity detects every fillable field and steps you through them in page order. You don't have to scan a long PDF just to find where the next answer goes.

  • Checkboxes, radios, and dropdowns

Tick supported checkboxes, pick radio options, and open dropdown menus right where they sit on the page. Your answers stay tied to the PDF's real field objects, not overlay text.

  • Signatures and initials

Drop a signature, set of initials, or date straight into any matching field without printing the form. You skip the usual print-scan-return loop for routine forms.

  • No watermark, no signup

Your filled PDF ships clean with no watermark, no banner, and no account needed. You share the completed form the moment the last field looks right.

More ways to fill a PDF form

Fill PDF forms without Acrobat

Skip the Acrobat install and type into your form directly in the browser. Your filled PDF downloads as a standard file that any PDF reader can open.

Sign and send a PDF form

Complete every field, drop a signature, and download the finished file in one pass. You avoid the back-and-forth of filling, printing, signing, and scanning again.

Save a filled PDF form

Your progress stays in the browser-backed editor, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off on the same device. You don't lose half-filled values to a refresh.

Fill PDF forms on mobile

Open the form-fill lane in Chrome or Safari on a phone or tablet and type into every field with the on-screen keyboard. You keep the same workflow you use on desktop.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to what people ask us most about editing a PDF online for free. Tap any question and the answer expands inline.

Can I save a half-filled form?
Yes. Your progress stays in the browser-backed editor so you can close the tab and reopen the same file from Files later on this device, keeping every field you already answered.
Does it work with AcroForms and XFA?
Standard AcroForm fields open cleanly in the form-fill lane. XFA-only PDFs may not expose their fields here, and Pdf Clarity says so directly when detection fails instead of pretending filling succeeded.
Will my form fields stay editable when I send it?
By default your filled values stay as live form fields in the exported PDF, so the recipient can still correct them. Flatten the file before export when you want your values locked in place.
Will my filled PDF have a watermark?
Never. Pdf Clarity does not add watermarks to your filled PDFs, ever.
Are my files safe?
Your PDF is transferred over TLS and deleted within one hour of upload. We don't look at it, and you don't need an account.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 100MB are supported on the free plan, which covers the PDFs most form-fill jobs need.
