How to fill a stubborn PDF form, end to end.

Four clicks from a dropzone on this page to a filled PDF in your Downloads folder. You never print, you never scan, you make the deadline.

  1. Drop the form on this page.

Drag it from your desktop or click to browse. It uploads encrypted. We can't see it.
  2. Type into the fields.

Real form fields light up in page order so you never hunt for the next box. If the form has no fields, we add a text-anywhere layer so you can type on top of it.
  3. Sign and add a date.

Drop your signature, initials, and the date on the exact line the form asks for. No print-sign-scan cycle. No second tool.
  4. Download. We forget.

Your filled PDF lands in Downloads. Our copy is deleted within the hour. Send it back before the other side notices you were stuck.

What you can actually do on this page.

Five honest moves you can finish in the browser you're already in. No Adobe, no signup, no stubborn form winning today.

  • Force any form editable.

If the PDF has real fields, we jump you through them in page order. If it doesn't, we let you type anywhere on the page so the form can't stop you.

  • Checkboxes, radios, dropdowns.

Tick the boxes, pick the radio options, open the dropdowns — right where they sit on the page. Your answers stay tied to the real field objects.

  • Sign without a second tool.

Drop a signature, initials, and a date straight into the field that asks for them. No printer, no scanner, no "please send a signed copy."

  • Save halfway through.

Your progress stays on this device so you can step away from the form mid-question and come back without losing the values you already typed.

  • No watermark, no signup.

Your filled PDF exports clean. No stamp, no "upgrade to unlock submit," no account required. Free means free.

More ways to fill a PDF form

Fill PDF forms without Acrobat

Skip the Acrobat install and type into your form directly in the browser. Your filled PDF downloads as a standard file that any PDF reader can open.

Sign and send a PDF form

Complete every field, drop a signature, and download the finished file in one pass. You avoid the back-and-forth of filling, printing, signing, and scanning again.

Save a filled PDF form

Your progress stays in the editor, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off on the same device. You don't lose half-filled values to a refresh.

Fill PDF forms on mobile

Open the form-fill tool in Chrome or Safari on a phone or tablet and type into every field with the on-screen keyboard. Same flow you use on desktop.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to what people ask us most about editing a PDF online for free. Tap any question and the answer expands inline.

Is it really free? What's the catch?
There isn't one. Filling, signing, dates, checkboxes — all free, for as long as you need it. No signup, no watermark, no trial timer.
Will my filled PDF have a watermark?
Never. Not on free, not on Pro, not ever.
Can I save a half-filled form?
Yes. Your progress stays in the browser on this device so you can close the tab and come back later without retyping every field you already answered.
Does it work with AcroForms and XFA?
Standard AcroForm fields open cleanly. XFA-only PDFs may not expose their fields here — if detection fails we say so directly instead of pretending filling succeeded, and you can still type on top of the page.
Will my form fields stay editable when I send it?
By default your filled values stay as live form fields in the exported PDF, so the recipient can still correct them. Flatten the file before export when you want your values locked in place.
What happens to my file after I'm done?
Deleted within one hour of upload. Encrypted in transit and at rest. Never read by a human, never shared, never used to train anything.
Do I need to sign up, create an account, or enter an email?
No, no, and no. The button says "Drop your PDF here" — that's the whole onboarding.
Does it work on an iPad, Chromebook, or phone?
Yes. Any browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. A laptop is smoother for long forms; a phone is fine when you just need to sign and send.
